How the LGBTQ Font Transformed My Small Business Branding

When I first opened my little candle shop, I focused on perfecting the scents, the wax blends, and the packaging materials. But it wasn’t until a customer casually mentioned that my labels looked “a bit all over the place” that I realized something was missing. That’s when I discovered LGBTQ — a display font that completely changed the visual tone of my brand.

LGBTQ isn’t just another font. It’s bold, expressive, and full of personality. Whether you’re printing product tags or designing social media graphics, this font commands attention without feeling overwhelming. Its assertive letterforms and clean lines give it that modern edge that small businesses need to stand out in a crowded market.

I started by updating my candle jar labels. Before, I used a generic sans serif that blended in too much. With LGBTQ, the brand name suddenly had presence. It felt more intentional, more polished — like I’d hired a professional designer instead of just tweaking things in Canva during my lunch break.

Where to Use LGBTQ for Maximum Impact

If you’re running a small business, chances are you’re designing everything from product packaging to Instagram stories on a regular basis. LGBTQ works incredibly well in situations where you want your text to be a visual statement. Here are a few places where I’ve used it with great results:

Typography Makes a Difference in Brand Perception

Before I found LGBTQ, I didn’t realize how much of an impact font choice had on how customers viewed my brand. Typography isn’t just about readability — it’s about tone. A bold, modern font like LGBTQ tells people you’re confident, creative, and intentional about your business image.

When I redesigned my packaging, I noticed that customers started commenting more often on how “put together” my products looked. It wasn’t just the packaging material or the colors — it was the type. The right font choice helped me build trust and recognition without spending a fortune on a full rebrand.

Pairing LGBTQ with Other Fonts

One of the best things about LGBTQ is that it works well with other typefaces. Since it’s a display font, it shines brightest when used sparingly — like for headlines or logo text. For body copy or longer descriptions, I pair it with a clean sans serif like Montserrat or Open Sans. This creates a nice visual contrast and keeps the design from feeling too busy.

If you're going for a more elegant or feminine look — say for a boutique or skincare brand — try pairing LGBTQ with a soft script font for accents. It adds just the right amount of flair without losing professionalism.

Readability Tips for Real-World Use

While LGBTQ is bold and beautiful, it’s best used at a readable size. On small product labels or mobile screens, I make sure the font is large enough to read easily. I also avoid using it in all caps for long phrases — it’s more of a visual punch than a workhorse font.

For printed packaging, I always test the font in black ink on the actual material to ensure clarity. Sometimes what looks crisp on screen can blur slightly on textured paper or matte labels. A quick print test can save a lot of time and money in the long run.

What to Check Before Using LGBTQ

Before you download and start using any font — even one as versatile as LGBTQ — it’s important to check the licensing. Since I use it in product packaging, social media, and digital ads, I wanted to make sure I had the proper commercial license.

I also looked at the font styles included. LGBTQ comes with multiple weights and alternates, which gave me more flexibility without needing to purchase additional fonts. Multilingual support was another bonus, especially since I occasionally get international orders and want my brand to feel inclusive.

Small Changes, Big Results

Updating your brand visuals doesn’t always require a complete overhaul. Sometimes, it’s the small changes — like switching to a premium display font — that make the biggest difference. Since using LGBTQ across my branding, I’ve noticed a more consistent visual identity, stronger customer engagement, and a more professional look that feels true to my brand’s voice.

If you're a small business owner, entrepreneur, or creative brand builder, don’t underestimate the power of typography. A bold, well-designed font like LGBTQ can help you stand out, build trust, and create a memorable brand presence — all with just a few clicks in your favorite design tool.
